1 -- Groove to the tunes

The Diamond Project, a Neil Diamond tribute band, will kick off the city's summer concerts series tonight (May 31) from 6:30 to 8:30 at the Veterans Memorial Park gazebo. The Concerts are free and all ages are welcome. Listeners are encouraged to bring blankets and chairs to sit in the grass. 2 -- Check out some big-time singers

Blossom Music Center's season is rolling into high gear now that Memorial Day has come and gone. On June 1, Sam Hunt and Maren Morris will appear at 7 p.m. at the Cuyahoga Falls venue. And on June 3, Olivia Newton John will appear at 8 p.m. at the Hard Rock Rocksino at Northfield Park.

3 -- Try to land a big fish

The city's annual fishing derby will take place June 3 from 9 to 11 a.m. at Sunny Lake Park, with awards being presented a little after 11. Refreshments will be available. Cost for Aurora residents is $10 for a family of up to four people, plus $3 for additional family members or $5 per individual. For non-residents, cost is $15 for a family, $4 for additional family members and $7 per individual. Trophies and raffle prizes are available and refreshments are included for participants. Limited bait is provided. Register at the Walker Building or on the day of the event at Sunny Lake's boathouse.

4 -- Look for books at library sale

The Friends of Aurora Memorial Library's next book sale will be June 7 during the library's operating hours in the gallery. The library is open Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. You can find a variety of books and other types of media at the sale.
