Police Reports is a sampling of incidents responded to by the Aurora Police Department. It is not intended to be all-inclusive.
Merchandise thefts: Two Akron women were charged with receiving stolen property and possessing criminal tools May 19 after a report from South Chillicothe Road retailers that they left the stores without paying for clothing. An officer pulled their vehicle over shortly after for an expired registration. The drive also was cited for the expired registration and driving under suspension. Since they were unable to post bond, they were taken to the Portage County Jail. Police said value of the items taken was $563.
Domestic disputes: An Aurora man was charged May 20 with domestiv violence after police investigated z verbal argument with his girlfriend over a cell phone. Neither party required medical attention. The man left the home on the southwest side of town and officers eventually pulled him over. He was taken to the Portage County Jail.
Police responded to a verbal argument May 17 between adult sisters on Kensington Court. One of the sisters agreed to leave the residence.
Trespassing: A Moreland Hills man, a North Canton man, two Texas women and a Solon male juvenile were charged with criminal trespassing May 20 after being found on private property off Squires Road, where "no trespassing" signs were posted.
A Macedonia woman and Sagamore Hills woman were charged with criminal trespassing May 23 after police found them on private property on Squires Road which was marked with "no trespassing" signs.
Lost items: A license plate for a vehicle that earlier had been involved in an accident in Aurora was turned in to police May 17. It was placed in safe keeping to await the owner's pickup.
An Aurora woman visited the police station to turn in a vehicle ignition key she found at the cemetery. It was placed in safe keeping to await pickup by its owner.
Lawn mower theft: A West Parkway Boulevard man reported May 23 he left his lawn mower on the tree lawn at his house to do weeding, and when he returned the mower was gone. No value was given.
Warrant pickup: An Akron woman was transferred from Tallmadge police custody May 23 to Aurora on a warrant for failure to appear court. She was taken to the Portage County Jail.
DUI citation: An Aurora man was cited for driving under the influence May 21 after police said he failed sobriety tests during a traffic stop. His alcohol content was .168. He was released on bond.
