Travel Club

Enjoy meeting new people and visiting new places with a group? Falls Travel Club is open for all. The next membership meeting will be June 1 at 1 p.m. The program will be "History of Chocolate" by Diana Kindler. Coffee and cookies served. The club will also be taking registration for the following trips: Pittsburgh Luncheon Cruise, June 30 - call Flora, 330-733-8435, Secret Shopper(where at least 10 gift cards will be given out and everyone comes home with gifts) July 11 call Barb at 330-929-4734 and Lake Erie Island Hopping on July 26 call Joanne at 330-688-1063. The club opens trips to non-members.

Adult Ceramics

Try a new hobby and take a ceramic class. Class is on Tuesdays from 7 9:30 p.m. at the Quirk Cultural Center. New and experienced participants will benefit from individual attention to perfecting their skill. There are many outdoor items such as plant pots, mushrooms, gnomes and gift projects to choose from. Class runs from June 6 July 18 (no class July 4). There is a registration fee which includes use of tools, stains and glazes and instruction. Greenware and firing are an additional cost depending on size of item.

Parks and Recreation Summer Concert Series Schedule

The Cuyahoga Falls Parks and Recreation Department offers Music in the Parks Concert Series featuring the Cuyahoga Falls Community Band and the Akron Pops Orchestra. The community is invited to come and enjoy the sounds of the 50-member Cuyahoga Falls Community Band directed by Kristan E. Crane, as well as the Akron Pops Orchestra. All concerts begin at 7:30 p.m. Join the band on any of the following dates to hear a music event:

Summer Park programs for all ages

The Parks and Recreation Department's summer programming begins the week of June 5. On June 5, the Tot-Time Program for the 3-6 year-olds and the Summer Park/Playground Program for 7-14 years-olds will open. These seven-week programs are offered to Cuyahoga Falls residents at no charge in the neighborhood parks.

The Tot Time Program features learning activities in art, crafts, storytelling, games, exercise, and music and theme days. Children must be 3 years old to participate, and an adult must remain during the session and actively participate. To be part of the Tot Time Program attend one of the sessions in the park closest to where you live. A birth certificate and proof of residency is required when registering. The Tot Time schedule for 2017:

Fun-filled summer days are offered at each of the six Park/Playground Program sites. Programming includes theme days, park picnics, board games, arts and crafts, ball games, Sno cones, nature exploration, park competitions and more. Parents need to go to the park closest to their house to register their children. The schedule for the Park/Playground Program is:

Ballroom dance lessons offered new session

The Parks and Recreation Department is offering the following ballroom dance lessons at the Quirk Cultural Center.

All classes are taught in a progressive format, each series covering one dance for four weeks. To see what dances are being taught that session go to Singles and couples are welcome, ages teen-adult. Pay at the door, no pre-registering needed. New session begins Thursday, June 1-29 (no class June 8 and 22).

Beginner Ballroom- Will get participants up and dancing the basics of dances, like Foxtrot, Waltz, Swing, Rumba and more. Have fun, get some exercise and be ready for social functions that include dancing. 6:30-7:15 p.m.

Intermediate Ballroom-This class will expand participants' repertoire and technical level on a wide variety of Ballroom, Latin and Swing dances. Dance with confidence and get noticed on the dance floor. 7:15-8 p.m.

Intermediate Argentine Tango- This class will expand participants' repertoire of the most beautiful and passionate dances in the world. This is the original Tango, from Buenos Aires, and seen in the movies. 8-8:45 p.m.
