The Stow-Munroe Falls Chamber of Commerce is seeking nominations from the communities of Stow and Munroe Falls for the 2017 "Friend of the Community Award."

This award will be presented on June 28 at the Pride Breakfast event held at Acker-Moore Memorial Post, 3733 Fishcreek Road, Stow. This event is open to the public and more than 200 people attend every year.

The criteria for the award are as follows: Nominee must work or live in the Stow-Munroe Falls community. This individual should show a long-standing commitment to the community, be an "unsung hero." Chamber membership is not a requirement for this award.

"We want the residents of Stow and Munroe Falls to be more involved in the nominating process," expressed Doris Stewart, Stow-Munroe Falls Chamber of Commerce executive director. "We know there are 'unsung' heroes, those individuals who may not be involved in the Chamber, doing good works to better improve the quality of life in Stow or Munroe Falls. An individual who is known for giving exceptional time and talent to the Stow-Munroe Falls community. If you know of someone that fits the criteria outlined on the Chamber website at SMFCC.COM, please submit a nomination."

The deadline for nominations is June 5. SMFCC Board of Directors will make the final selection from the slate of nominees. Call the Chamber office at 330-688-1579 or email for a nomination form.
