Memorial Day Parade Committee meeting is May 21

The Cuyahoga Falls Memorial Day Parade Committee will host the final mandatory meeting for all parade participants on May 21 at 2 p.m. at the American Legion Post 281, 1601 Front St.

District 2 County Councilor hosts office hours May 25

District 2 Summit County Councilmember John Schmidt has announced that he will host public office hours on May 25 between 7 and 8:30 p.m. at the Cuyahoga Falls Public Library, 2015 Third St. Councilman Schmidt will be available to answer questions and hear concerns from constituents. District 2 includes most of the city of Cuyahoga Falls, the city of Munroe Falls, and portions of Akron including East Akron, Goodyear Heights and North Hill.

Portion of Second Street closed for Cruise In on Mondays

The Don Sitts Riverfront Car Cruise is off and running in its new location in the Weller Court Municipal Parking Lot and the parking lot of St. Joseph's. During the Cruise In on Monday nights, Second Street will be closed from Broad Boulevard to Falls Avenue, open only to traffic going to Pilgrim Church or Absorbent Minds Montessori School. There will be no Cruise In on Memorial Day.

Ward 4 Historic Walking Tour June 3

Councilwoman Mary Nichols-Rhodes will conduct a Ward 4 Historic Walking tour on June 3. Residents are invited to take an historic walking tour with a look toward the future of the heart of Cuyahoga Falls. Participants will learn about the ward's rich history of people and places during the 90-minute walk. The tour begins at the Cuyahoga Falls Library, traverses Portage Trail, the Front Street Mall, and includes a stop at Clifford's Mini Car Museum. The tour begins at 11 a.m. Meeting place: outside of the library's entrance. Rain date is June 4 at 11 a.m.

Community Cookout with Councilman event June 3

Ward 6 City Councilman Adam Miller will be hosting a "Community Cookout" event at the Swanson Household, 511 Grove Ave., on June 3 from noon to 2 p.m. (food and refreshments provided). Councilman Miller enjoys meeting residents face to face and wants to hear residents' concerns and ideas for Ward 6 and Cuyahoga Falls.
