The following students from Aurora completed their Ashland University degree requirements and graduated at commencement ceremonies May 6:

Joshua Hauman received a bachelor of science degreein business administration. He majored in economics, is a 2013 graduate of Aurora High and the son of Michael and Barbra Hauman.

Elizabeth Polasky received a bachelor of science in nursing degree. She majored in nursing, is a 2013 graduate of Aurora High and the daughter of Thomas and Heather Polasky. She graduated cum laude and with Gamma Kappa Alpha honors.

Rachael Schwartz, a 2013 Aurora High graduate, graduated from Creighton University in Omaha, Neb. on May 13. She earned a bachelor of science degree in nursing from the College of Nursing, and has accepted a job at Allina Health Care in St. Paul, Minn.

Alexandra Conces of Aurora graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania on May 13 with a bachelor's degree in religious studies and a minor in anthropology. She is the daughter of Pete and Kris Conces and graduated from Aurora High in 2013.

Brandon Hayes of Aurora, son of Chris Hayes and Dave Hayes, was named a 2016-2017 outstanding undergraduate scholar at Rochester Institute of Technology in New York state.

The awards, a bronze medallion, were given in ceremonies April 6 to those students who have met the scholarship criteria -- a minimum grade-point average of 3.85 out of 4.0, completion of more than two-thirds of the credit hours required for a bachelor's degree and demonstrated community engagement.
