The Don Sitts Riverfront Cruise In will kick off on May 15, weather permitting.

The events will take place on Monday nights beginning May 15 and will run until Oct. 2, weather permitting. The Riverfront Cruise is temporarily relocating to accommodate construction that will soon be underway to open the Front Street pedestrian mall to vehicular traffic.

"I am extremely proud of the job that Don Sitts does with the Riverfront Cruise In and am thrilled to have this great location adjacent to our downtown," stated Mayor Don Walters. "The Cruise In is a long-standing tradition in Cuyahoga Falls, and I am grateful that we can partner with St. Joseph Parish and Father Jared Orndorff so that residents and visitors may continue to enjoy this beloved community event in a centralized, convenient location."

"I'm blessed to have the awesome support of Mayor Don Walters and his staff year after year," said Don Sitts. "We hope to have a great Monday Night Cruise and bring a lot of cruisers back to the Falls this summer."

This year, the event has been relocated to the St. Joseph School parking lot and municipal parking lot at Weller Court (next to Fire Station 1). During the events, Second Street will be open to local access going southbound from Broad Boulevard to Falls Avenue. For the first two weeks of the season, cruisers are asked to enter the St. Joseph School parking lot after 4 p.m. to help accommodate the school schedule. There is no Cruise In scheduled for Memorial Day.

This year, the Cruise In will be bringing back theme nights to feature different classics every Monday. The event will also feature two DJ booths and 50/50 raffles. There will be Summit Racing Top Pick Awards and 12 Feature Classics Top Pick Picture Awards every week by the Hot Rod Signs. Food will be served by St. Joseph's and other local vendors.

In 2006, Don Sitts Auto Sales Inc. took over production of the Riverfront Cruise In. Initially, 30-40 cars were showcased, but the event has grown in record numbers, averaging 250-300 cars every Monday night on the Riverfront. It has been named the No. 1 Cruise in the state of Ohio by Cruise Times Magazine from 2007-2014.
