New monthly card making

So many people want to make cards but do not have the time so why not try it one time a month? Every month you can create five different cards. Supplies included. All you need to bring is your scissors and some adhesives.

May class is scheduled for May 18 from 7 -9 p.m. Cards with the Graduation and Wedding Day theme are on display at the Quirk Cultural Center where the class takes place. Pre - registration is required with a fee. A class fee is payable to instructor at time of registration (includes all supplies).

New Lasagna Gardening

Have limited space for a garden this is for you. It's that time of year to get out your gloves and green thumbs and try a new adventure in gardening. Class will take place May 20 from 10 a.m. noon at the Quirk Cultural Center. Enjoy your bounty of home grown vegetables as your reward. There is a registration fee and a class fee payable to instructor, Sandy Barstow at registration.

Cuyahoga Falls Strollers

The Strollers have kicked off their hiking season. They are a group of people age 50 and up who enjoy the outdoors and area parks. The schedule for May includes: May 9 Wolf Creek Trailhead followed by lunch at Belgrade Gardens, May 16 Sand Run parkway followed by lunch at Papa Joe's.

The Strollers meet at the Quirk Cultural Center on Tuesdays at 9:15 a.m. then carpool to the designated park for their hike. It's a great way to meet new people and get exercise as well.

New participants are welcome and encouraged.

Park and Rec Girls' Slo-Pitch Softball Late Registration

The Parks and Recreation Department will host late registration for the Girls' Slo-Pitch Softball Program on May 10, 6 8 p.m. at the Quirk Cultural Center, 1201 Grant Ave. All girls between the ages of 6 and 15 are eligible. Practices and games take place weekday evenings at Bolich and Newberry fields. To register, take a birth certificate, parent and registration fee. Fees are $35 for all age groups.

Working with Essential Oils class

The Cuyahoga Falls Parks and Recreation Department is offering an Essential Oils classes at the Quirk Cultural Center. All classes are on Thursdays from 6:30-8 p.m. Attendees will be introduced to all the healthy benefits of using 100 percent pure essential oils. Instructors will discuss the proper ways of using the oils and why to use them.

May 11: Make 100 percent All Natural Perfumes: There will be a discussion and then make and take. Participants will be using pure essential oils as they make their own perfume.

June 8: Balance Your Emotions with Essential Oils: Learn ways and reasons to use certified pure therapeutic grade essential oils to balance you and your family's emotional needs.

July 13: Become Essentially Well: This will be a make and take workshop using certified pure therapeutic grade essential oils. Learn how to use them safely and choose to make roller balls that will benefit your body.

Aug. 10: Essential Moods: Bring about change in your moods as you use all natural essential oils.
