Dunbar Primary School hosted its annual Kindergarten Grandparents Day on April 21. Approximately 350 grandparents came to the school to participate in the event. Grandparents visited the kindergarten classrooms and went on a scavenger hunt with their grandchild. The students read to their grandparents and demonstrated some of the things they had learned in kindergarten. The students also made gifts for the grandparents. After the grandparents had visited the classrooms, the kindergarten students presented a musical performance under the direction of music teacher Dana Herro, above. After the performance, grandparents and their grandchildren enjoyed a light breakfast provided by the Dunbar Parent Teacher Association. "We really enjoy hosting this annual event," said Dunbar Principal Courtney Davis. "The students are always proud to show their grandparents what they've been learning, and the grandparents enjoy getting to see how their grandchildren have grown academically and socially throughout their time in kindergarten. Thank you to our wonderful PTA for once again helping us make this day special for our kindergarten students and their grandparents."
