1 SHARE A FAVORITE BOOK WITH A BOW WOW BUDDIE:
K-6th grade kids can read to therapy dogs on May 7 at 1:30 p.m. at the Stow-Munroe Falls Public Library, 3512 Darrow Road, Stow. This helps children build confidence in their reading ability with this impartial audience. No registration required. Sign up for a 15-minute time slot when you arrive. Bring your favorite book or choose one of the library's.
2 BUY SOME FLOWERS FOR MOM:
Mother's Day will be here May 14. The Stow-Munroe Falls Lions Club will help you with the perfect gift for mother, grandmother, wife, or mother-to-be. Hanging Baskets and Potted Plants will be available at the Lions' Flower Sale Fundraiser on May 13 at Eddie's Bike Plaza, 3707 Darrow Road in Stow from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Proceeds from the sale help fund many community activities.
3 SPEND SOME TIME WITH A FIREFIGHTER
The Stow Junior Firefighter Obstacle Course event, a fundraiser sponsored by the Stow Safety Forces Relay For Life Team, will take place May 13 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Fire Station 3, 4238 Fishcreek Road in Stow. Children ages 10 and under will go through an obstacle course with a Stow Firefighter (yes, one-on-one).
The $10 donation per child includes the Junior Firefighter Obstacle Course and lunch. The city of Stow will transfer all donations for this event to the American Cancer Society. Space limited to first 300 participants, first come, first served. Registrations will be taken day of event if space is available. All children must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian at all times. If adults wish to eat lunch with their child/children, they are welcome to do so for a $5 donation for your mea. Children should dress in weather appropriate play clothes and must wear closed toe tennis shoes to actively participate. This event will be rain or shine.
