The Cuyahoga Falls and Silver Lake Police Memorial and Honor Guard Foundation will host the annual Peace Officers Memorial Ceremony on May 17 at 10 a.m. at the Cuyahoga Falls Civic Center Campus, 2310 Second St.
The names of Louis Dirker, Robert Kidd and Jerry Archer have been added to the memorial site. Dirker, who served as chief of both the Stow and Cuyahoga Falls police departments during his career, died in February 2016 at the age of 67 after battling cancer.
Stow Municipal Court Judge Kim Hoover will be the keynote speaker.
The public may also show support for their local law enforcement officers by displaying blue and black ribbons, or a police memorial flag throughout National Police Week May 14-20.
