The following Miami University students from Aurora were part of a study abroad group during winter 2017 semester: Payton Messner studied in the Netherlands, Alexander Tutkovics and Madeleine Tutkovics studied in Italy and Gabriel Skidmore studied in Puerto Rico.

With 49 percent of Miami undergraduate students studying abroad for credit by the time they graduate, Miami is ranked first among public doctoral institutions nationwide for students studying abroad.

Including students on internships, non-credit and Service-Learning programs, international students who study in a third country, and all other overseas programs completed by graduate and undergraduate students, 57% of Miami students study abroad.

Sammi DiGeronimo of Aurora is among a group of students who recently traveled to Louisville as part of immersion experiences sponsored by John Carroll University's Office of Campus Ministry during spring break.

Immersion experiences challenge students to engage the realities of the world while reflecting on the values of human dignity and servant leadership. Students were assigned to one of three destinations, either Immokalee, Fla, Louisville, Ky. or Pine Ridge, S.D.

The following students from Aurora were initiated into the Alpha Lambda Delta honorary society during spring semester 2017 at the University of Mount Union in Alliance: Emily Keller and Rachel Markle. Alpha Lambda Delta is a national scholastic honorary for freshmen recognizing academic excellence. To be eligible for membership, students must have a 3.5 grade-point average after the first semester or a 3.5 cumulative grade-point average at the end of two semesters.
