AKRON, Ohio –  Montrella S. Jackson was recently appointed by County Executive Ilene Shapiro as the newest member of the Summit County Children Services Board of Trustees.  Her term will expire in 2020.  

Ms. Montrella Jackson has been serving as the Chief Administrator for the Akron Municipal Court for over four years.  She earned a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science from The University of Michigan in 1994.  With extensive study in international politics and Japanese language and culture, Ms. Jackson worked two years in Japan as an English Instructor/Sister City Ambassador for the Takasaki Board of Education.  She then came to Akron where she attended The University of Akron School of Law and graduated in 1999.  Ms. Jackson was an in-house attorney at Summit County Children Services from 1999 to 2012.  

Ms. Jackson is currently the President of the Good Samaritan Hunger Center Board on which she has served since 2006.  Since 2007, she has served on the Ohio State Bar Association Council of delegates which reviews legislative proposals throughout the State of Ohio.  She also has served on the Women's Network of Northeast Ohio Board since 2012, elected as Secretary and Board Development Committee Chair for the non-profit Board of Directors.  Ms. Jackson is also a candidate for Certified Court Manager designation through the Ohio Supreme Court.
