Aurora High has added another feather to its cap with last week’s announcement that U.S. News & World Report magazine rated it No. 1 in Northeast Ohio and No. 6 overall in Ohio.

Aurora was one of 19 schools in Ohio to earn a gold medal. Statistics listed by the magazine indicate AHS had a 97 percent graduation rate in 2017 and a 70.9 percent college readiness rate.

"Aurora has the best high school in Northeast Ohio, is ranked sixth best of over 600 high schools in Ohio (top 1 percent) and has the lowest real estate tax rate of any of the 14 excellent districts ranked below us in performance by U.S. News & World Report," said School Board President Gerald Kohanski. "The value proposition to the community is obvious."
