Serenity Hospice is hosting its Annual Volunteer Appreciation Event during National Volunteer Week, April 23-29. This year's theme is "Volunteers Make the World a Brighter Place." It is a time to recognize the contributions of volunteers and to encourage more people to donate their time.
Serenity Hospice would like to thank the volunteers who generously donate their time by supporting its patients and their families. This can include visiting, reading, taking a walk, writing, music, art, pet visits, bereavement support, or even massage therapy. In addition, volunteers may assist with administrative duties, such as, preparing mailings, filing, or other clerical duties.
Most people do not realize that Medicare requires hospice companies to have volunteers. This signifies the importance of volunteers to enhancing the quality of life of our patients and their families.
Serenity Hospice will be celebrating their volunteers with a recognition event on: April 25 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Christ Community Chapel of Hudson, 750 W. Streetsboro St., Hudson.
Serenity Hospice serves patients in the following counties: Summit, Stark, Portage, Cuyahoga, Medina, and Wayne.
