Cleveland Massillon Rd. in the City of Norton

Shellhart Ave. on the west side of Cleveland Massillon Rd. is closed through mid-July for roadway widening. The detour is Cleveland Massillon Rd. to Greenfall Rd. to Easton Rd.

Cleveland Massillon Rd. between Greenridge Rd. and Pleasant Dr. has various lane restrictions during off-peak hours through September for roadway widening. This work is part of a $2.2 million project to widen Cleveland Massillon Rd. between Greenridge Rd. Rd. to and Pleasant Dr. The entire project is scheduled to be completed by late September 2017.

State Route 18 in Bath & Copley Townships

(Monday, April 17 - until further notice)

Beginning Monday April 17, SR 18/Medina Rd. between the Medina County line and Hametown Rd. will have various daily lane restrictions for roadway milling and resurfacing. This work is part of a $7.7 million project to widen SR 18/Medina Rd. between Hametown Rd. and I-77 and to resurface SR 18/E. Market St. between I-77 and the western Akron Corporation limit. The entire project is scheduled to be completed late June 2017.

Interstate 77 in the City of Akron

(Wednesday, April 19 – Thursday, April 20)

Beginning Wednesday evening, April 19 at 7 p.m., and continuing through Thursday morning, April 20 at 6 a.m., I-77 northbound between I-76/Kenmore Leg to just north of SR 261/V. Odom Blvd. will have lane restrictions for concrete pavement repairs.

(Friday, April 21 – Monday, April 24)

Beginning Friday evening, April 21 at 7 p.m., and continuing through Monday morning, April 24 at 6 a.m. the following lane restriction and ramp closures will occur while concrete pavement repairs are made:

I-77 northbound between I-76/Kenmore Leg to just north of SR 261/V. Odom Blvd. will be reduced to one lane The ramp from I-277 westbound to I-76/Kenmore Leg will be CLOSED. The detour will be I-76 westbound to SR 21 northbound to I-77. The ramp from I-76 eastbound/Kenmore Leg to I-77 northbound will be CLOSED. The detour will be I-76 eastbound to I-77 southbound to I-277 westbound to I-76 westbound to SR 21 northbound.

This work is the beginning of a $2.2 million project to make concrete pavement repairs on I-77 between I-76/Kenmore Leg and SR 261/V. Odom Blvd. The entire project is scheduled to be completed by August 2017.

Interstate 77/State Route 21 in Copley Township

I-77 between SR 21 and Cleveland Massillon Rd. has various nightly lane restrictions for resurfacing. These restrictions will occur between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m.

SR 21 southbound just north of Minor Rd. has various daily lane restrictions for bridge repairs. This work is part of a $7.2 million project to resurface SR 21 from the northern Norton Corporation limit to I-77 and I-77 between SR 21 and Cleveland Massillon Rd. This project also includes minor bridge repairs. The entire project is scheduled to be completed by late September 2017.

Interstate 76 in the City of Akron

(Monday, April 17 – until further notice)

Beginning Monday April 17, Brown St. between Johnston St. and South St. will be closed through early May for bridge painting. The detour will be Thornton St. to Grant St. to Morgan St. to Brown St.

I-76 eastbound and westbound between Main St. and the Central Interchange has occasional nightly lane restrictions between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. for roadway construction. This work is part of a $15.6 million project to remove three bridge on I-76/I-77 over Johnston St. The project also includes the relocation of Johnston St. between Spicer St. and Brown St. The entire project is scheduled to be completed by late July 2017.

Interstate 76 & Main Street in the City of Akron

(Saturday, April 15 – until further notice)

Beginning Saturday, April 15, W. South St., Bachtel Ave., and W. Crosier St. will be closed at S. Main St. through late fall for roadway construction. The detour will be Princeton St. to W. Miller Ave. to Main St.

The ramps from South St. to I-76 eastbound are permanently closed. The detour is Broadway St. to Thornton St. to Grant St. to E. Exchange St. to Spicer St. to Carroll St. to Goodkirk St. to SR 8 south to I-76 east.

Bartges St. between High St. and Broadway St. is closed through September 2017 for roadway construction. The detours are: Eastbound W. Bartges St.: Main St. to E. Exchange St. From S. Broadway St.: E. Exchange St. to S. Main St. to Bartges St.

Wolf Ledges Parkway over I-76 is closed through early summer 2017 for a bridge replacement. The detour is Wolf Ledges Parkway to Crosier St. to Grant St. to Thornton St.

Main St. and Broadway St. between Miller Rd. and Bartges St. has various lane restrictions for roadway construction. This work is part of an $84 million project to reconstruct I-76/Main St. and Broadway St. interchange in the City of Akron. The entire project is scheduled to be completed by July 2020.

Interstate 271 in Richfield Village & Richfield Township

(Monday, April 17 - until further notice)

Beginning Monday, April 17, I-271 from just north of the Medina County line to the Ohio Turnpike will have various daily lane restrictions during non-peak travel times for resurfacing. This work is part of a $46.4 million project to reconstruct the pavement along I-271 from Broadview Rd. to the Ohio Turnpike. Then entire project is scheduled to be completed by late July 2017.

The following routes have various lane restrictions for microsurfacing:

US 224 from just east of I-77 to just east of Kelly Ave. and from just east of Hilbish Ave. to just east of Shanafelt Ave. SR 91 from just south of High Grove Blvd., to just north of Rhoadesdale Ave. SR 93 from just south of State Rd. to just north of Linda Dr. SR 241 from just south of Beryl Rd. to Oakes Dr.

This work is part of a $1.3 million project to microsurface various routes throughout Summit County. The entire project is scheduled to be completed by late July 2017.

State Route 8 in the City of Cuyahoga Falls

SR 8 between Howe Ave. and Graham Rd. has various daily and nightly lane restrictions for bridge repairs. These restrictions will occur between 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. This work is part of a $4.6 million project to resurface SR 8 between Howe Rd. and Graham Rd., SR 303 from east of Chittenden Rd. to Olde 8 and on SR 261 from just west of SR 8 to N. Main St. The project also includes miscellaneous bridge repairs. The entire project is scheduled to be complete by October 2017.

Interstate 76 in the Cities of Norton and Barberton

I-76 between the Medina County line and Central Ave. has occasional nightly lane restrictions through May 2017 for pavement repairs. This work is part of an $80.4 million project to reconstruct the pavement on I-76 between the Medina County line and Central Ave. The project also includes the widening of I-76 between SR 21 and Central Ave. The entire project is scheduled to be completed by late July 2019.

Interstate 271 in Northfield Center Township

I-271 southbound one mile south of SR 8 has various daily lane restrictions for a slope repair. This work is part of a $1.8 million project to repair the slope on the southbound side of I-271 just north of Brandywine Rd. The entire project is scheduled to be completed by June 2017.
