COLUMBUS (April 14, 2017) – Ohio PTA will hold a Town Hall meeting on the Opioid Epidemic from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Friday, April 28 at the DoubleTree Hotel, 175 Hutchinson Ave in Columbus.

The opiate epidemic and shift to heroin is causing great concern throughout the State of Ohio. This presentation by the Ohio Attorney General’s Office will give an overview of the opioid epidemic, a summary of Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine’s response to this epidemic, an update on programs and services available for drug prevention programming in schools, insights on what the Attorney General’s Office has seen succeed across Ohio, and recommendations for school leaders. Presenter are Jennifer Biddinger, director of drug abuse outreach initiatives and Randi Ostry, drug use education and policy manager.

The meeting will kick off the organization’s annual convention. The 111th Ohio PTA Convention will be April 28 – 30 at the DoubleTree Hotel. More information is available at
