Stow Police are looking for a Tallmadge man who allegedly fired a gun at an Akron man in the area of Lorwood and Echo Valley drives on Sunday afternoon.
No injures were reported in the incident.
Stow Police say Stow Municipal Court has issued an arrest warrant for 23-year-old Cody Ryan Sturgeon on a second-degree felony assault charge. As of press time on April 6, no arrest had been made.
Police responded to the area around the intersection at 2:05 p.m. Officers were advised a red Chevrolet pickup truck may have been involved. Officers arrived and checked the area for two persons who left on foot, leaving a vehicle there, and for the red pickup truck. While one officer was talking to a witness to the shooting, the pickup truck returned to the area. When the driver, a 20-year-old Akron man, saw the officer, he immediately fled the area. Once located, it was learned that he had been shot at numerous times while he sat in the driver's seat of his truck. The shots shattered the driver's side window where he was seated. He was able to avoid the gunshots by ducking down in the seat and pressing the accelerator of his truck and fleeing the area.
The Akron man told police that he and Sturgeon "had been in a disagreement over illegal drugs."
Sturgeon is described as white, 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighing about 200 pounds and having brown hair and brown eyes.
Police say the matter is still under investigation.
