1 -- Attend city government meetings

Public involvement and comments are always welcome at the meetings of various Aurora government bodies. In the coming week, the planning commission will meet tonight (April 5) at 6:30 and City Council will gather April 10 at 7 p.m. Both gatherings are in Town Hall's Council chambers. Agendas can be obtained by contacting the planning-zoning-building department at the Walker Building or City Council clerk at Town Hall.

2 -- Attend events at Aurora schools

A grandparents tea for students and their grandparents or a "grandparent for a day" will be April 7 from 9 to 11 a.m. at Harmon School. Refreshments will be provided by the PTO and entertainment by Harmon students. Also on April 7, students in grades 3 to 5 at Leighton School are invited to a luau party sponsored by the Aurora Orchestra Association from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. It will include pizza, a disc jockey, games and raffle baskets. Raffle are available.

3 -- Discuss a book

Join Aurora Memorial Library's parent and child book club discussion April 8 at 1 p.m. to talk about the book "Honey" by Sarah Weeks. The parent and child book club is for children ages 8 to 12 accompanied by an adult. It meets monthly during the school year and new members are always welcome. 4 -- Support athletes at Aurora schools

The annual Aurora All-Sports Boosters reverse raffle and silent auction is April 8 from 6 to 11 p.m. at the Bella Vita Event Center (formerly Aurora Golf Club). The event helps support Aurora High and Harmon School student athletes. It's an evening of food, fun, a $2,000 grand prize and various vacation packages, including to the 2018 Masters golf tournament and Royal Caribbean cruises. Tickets are $80 for one dinner and one chance, $115 for two dinners and one chance and $40 for one chance. Get tickets at the Aurora athletic office (330-954-2008) or from Mindy at 216-401-3948.
