On April 20, from 7 to 9 p.m., 15 restaurants and bakeries will participate in the Stow-Munroe Falls Public Library Foundation's 11th Annual Dessert Extravaganza. For 11 years, Abshire & Haylan has donated a jewelry item to the fundraiser. This year's item is the "Curly Leaves" sterling silver, amethyst, and pink topaz earring and ring set. The retail value is $900.

"Dessert Extravaganza has been a transformation to our library," said Cindy Pribonic, the Stow-Munroe Falls Public Library Foundation's president. "Over the last 10 years, Dessert Extravaganza has enabled the Foundation to pay for the underwater mural going up the stairs to the Children's Department, of the electronic sign at the street, the anti-microbial flooring in the Story Time Room, of the events monitors in the children's and teen areas, Conference Room furniture on the first floor, of the outreach vehicle, shelving, LED signs and new materials for the Tween Spot, and we also set up an endowment fund with the Akron Community Foundation. These are things that would not have been possible with ta-payer monies, which have made our library a more enriching experience. Thank you to everyone who has contributed over the years. "

The event's ticket price of $50 includes a chance to win the jewelry set. Only 150 tickets will be sold to this year's event. Tickets may be purchased at the library's front circulation desk. The Stow-Munroe Falls Public Library Foundation serves to provide funds for significant projects that enhance the mission of the library and to build an endowment that will carry on the legacy of the library.
