Stow-Munroe Falls Hgh School DECA competed at the Ohio Career Development Conference for state competition at the convention center on March 17 and 18 in Columbus.

Thirty-two students competed in various business events in either a role-play scenario or case study. One senior also presented an "Innovation Business Plan" on March 17. The students also had to take a 100-question exam in their business field that night and then continue onto March 18 to compete in front of a judge.

That evening the students attended the awards ceremony and the following were called on stage as finalists: Dominic Bruner and Ryan Stone, Financial Services Team; Madeline Fink and Christine DeMarino, Travel and Tourist Team; and Megan Fragola and Mark Beeson, Hospitality Services Team. Teams that continue onto the International Career Conference in Anaheim to compete in late April are the Travel and Tourism Team and the Hospitality Team.

DECA members gain 21st century skills, prepare to become better, effective leaders, and gain motivation for college and career readiness.
