Free craft demonstration

The Craft Shoppe located in the Quirk Cultural Center, 1201 Grant Ave., is hosting a free craft demonstration on March 28 at 6:30 pm. The item to be taught is the fashion mesh wreath which can be made for any holiday or season. The Craft Shoppe is the perfect home for handmade projects to display for sale. It is the quiet secret consignment shop that people boast about when looking for something handmade and unique.

The Shoppe is looking for new crafters or artists who make anything from jewelry to florals to rugs to cards to their own unique creation. Attendees may price their items knowing which they choose: 1) 90 percent return on their merchandise that is sold when they volunteer to clerk the shop two shifts a month or 2) 70 percent return on their merchandise that is sold when they cannot volunteer at all.

Brookledge Men's Monday Senior Golf League

The Men's Monday Senior Golf League at Brookledge Golf Course is seeking new members. A registration meeting will be at 9 a.m. on April 3 at Quirk Cultural Center. Play consists of nine holes, weekly on Monday mornings beginning April 17. The league is sponsored by the Cuyahoga Falls Parks and Recreation Department.

Members must be 60 years of age.

Woodshop Orientation

Winter is over and so is your to-do list. You may need to fix and maybe need some assistance by learning some woodworking skills. Why not attend a Woodshop Orientation Class at Quirk Cultural Center? The next evening class will be April 5 from 7 9 p.m.

A participant will learn the usage and safety of each machine which includes saws, routers and a press. There is a small class fee paid the night of class. After the orientation class is completed, participants may work independently in the workshop by purchasing a user card that is good for five visits. Or they can sign up for a three-week class on Wednesdays scheduled with the instructor. Supplies are student's responsibility according to project.

Creative & Essay Writing Workshop

A new class offered at the Quirk Cultural Center is designed for those wishing to improve their writing for publication or for their own good. Fiction and nonfiction, magazine, newsletters, short stories, and recreation. Tuesdays April 4 through 25 from 6:30 8 p.m.

There is a registration fee and class fee payable to the instructor.

Pre-registration is encouraged so the class will take place.

Bunny Hop at the Quirk Cultural Center

The Easter Bunny will be hopping by the Quirk Cultural Center on April 8 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for an egg-stra special event.

This holiday tradition includes a light lunch, keepsake photo, craft and an Easter treat bag. Reservations must be made in advance starting now for residents and starting March 27 for non-residents.

Space is limited, so be sure to register early. Seating will begin at 10:45 a.m., those wishing to sit together should arrive together. Resident admission fee: child $12, adult $8. Non-resident admission fee: child $14, adult $9.
