The Dare to Share program provides weekend food bags for students in need from across the Tallmadge City Schools. NOW Bags (Nutrition-On-Weekends) are an effort to be sure all students have an adequate food supply on the weekend and can return to school Monday ready to focus on learning. Bags contain items for two breakfasts, two lunches and a variety of snacks. High school students who are members of Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America spend lunch time every Friday sorting food and packing bags. Volunteers from Tallmadge United Methodist Church and the Rotary Club volunteer as drivers to deliver the bags to each school building. This year the group has been averaging between 50 and 60 bags per week which is more than any previous year. FCCLA is very appreciative of the generosity of several church and civic groups, and S.D. Myers and it's employees for their contributions to the Dare to Share program. Their continuous support guarantees that each week the bags can be filled with fresh fruit and a variety of nutritious foods. Those who would like to contribute to this effort are directed to send a check payable to "Dare to Share" or drop off food donations to Tallmadge High School, 140 N. Munroe Road, Attn: Kelley Smith, FCCLA Advisor.
