The Celtic Club sponsored its annual St. Pets Day fundraiser to benefit the Stow Police K-9 program at Stow-Munroe Falls High School March 4. The event included students taking part in a weight lifting competition, entertainment and food. The police department had already raised the up to $15,000 cost of a dog, training and equipment, to replace Police K-9 Colt, who died this past October following a brief illness, but donations also pay for the cost of maintaining the dogs. The department hopes to have a new dog purchased, trained and on the job, joining K-9s Mingo and Spectrum, by June.
