Update: A wind advisory remains in effect through 7 p.m. tonight, as FirstEnergy Corp.'s online power outage application reports more than 100,000 customers in the region are without power due to scattered outages.
The application reports there are more than a dozen power outages in the Nordonia Hills area, affecting between 600 and 2,000 customers. The larges outage is in the vicinity of Chamberlin Road and Route 82, where between 500 and 1,500 customers are affected, according to FirstEnergy Corp. The National Weather Service's Cleveland Office has issued a wind advisory for Northeast Ohio through 7 p.m. this evening. Southwesterly winds of between 20 and 30 mph are forecast to pass through the area, with gusts to 50 mph. Winds are expected to increase into midday and peak this afternoon.
Strong winds may bring down limbs, a few trees and power lines. Scattered power outages are possible.
A Wind Advisory is issued for sustained winds of 31 to 39 mph or gusts between 46 and 57 mph.
