TWINSBURG -- Artistry in Motion Dance Center on Ravenna Road recently performed in its annual Winter Showcase at the Hilton Garden Inn of Cleveland/Twinsburg Feb. 5.

A.I.M's Troupe Booster Club hosts the event in which the dancers perform for family and friends.

Winter Showcase kicks off the dancers' competition season and gets them ready to compete regionally throughout the spring. This year, the exhibition consisted of approximately 60 dancers from local communities ranging in age from 4 to 18 years. The dancers performed almost 60 numbers consisting of large and small groups, soloists, duets and trios in a variety of genres including lyrical, jazz, ballet, tap, acro, contemporary, musical theater and hip hop.

"I think this season might just be Artistry in Motion's best one yet," said Janet Carey, owner and artistic director of A.I.M. "While watching them you can just see how excited they are to be on stage. I'm so proud of how hard they all work and their ongoing positive attitudes."

This past year has been busy for the dancers at A.I.M. Besides training and rehearsing, they have attended conventions with world-renowned choreographers, participated in the Twins Day Festival and became national champions at the Believe Talent Competition in Ocean City, Md.

Additionally, on Feb. 25, A.I.M dancers will host a fundraiser in conjunction with the Easter Seals organization. The troupe is accepting donations of clothing, blankets, towels and small household items in the studio parking lot between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. The dancers ask that people bring donations so that Easter Seals can give them to adults and children in need.
