Students in kindergarten through sixth grade got the opportunity to cheer for the Nordonia Knights boys' basketball team on Feb. 10. This high spirited group were dressed in turquoise and stars under the direction of Nordonia High School cheerleading coaches, Brenda Basch, Brenna Brys, Tana Sinarski and the Nordonia athletic department. The coaches thank the community and students who participated in our largest cheer group yet. On Feb. 5, students attended a clinic where they were taught a cheer, chant, and dance. On Feb. 10 a total of 235 performers cheered the boys' basketball team to victory against Cuyahoga Falls with a chant, and demonstrated their enthusiasm with a dance routine to four different songs. The fifth- and sixth-grade girls started off with a routine to "Me Too" by Meghan Trainor, the third-and fourth-graders were up next with a routine to "Can't Stop the Feeling" by Justin Timberlake. The first-and second-graders followed with a routine to "Confident" by Demi Lovato. The kindergarteners closed out the show with a routine to "24K Magic" by Bruno Mars. Afterwards they energized the crowd with a Nordonia chant. A special thanks to The Little Gym of Sagamore Hills/ Brecksville and Teachers Bill and Katie who provided snacks to all our participants. This fundraiser helps defray the costs of uniforms, accessories, and competitions for the high school cheer squads. We look forward to seeing everyone again next year. Thank you and GO KNIGHTS!
