Police Reports is a sampling of incidents responded to by the Aurora Police Department. It is not intended to be all-inclusive.

Property damage: An Aurora man reported Feb. 6 the front lawn of his business on Lena Drive was "turfed" for a second time in several weeks. No damage estimate was given.

Theft: A local business reported Feb. 7 that merchandise valued at $54 was stolen from the store and an attempt was later made to return it to a sister store.

Warrant pickup: Bedford police arrested a Bedford Heights man on an Aurora warrant for failing to appear in court. Aurora officers picked him up at the Bedford jail and brought him to Aurora, where he posted bond and was released.


DUI citations: An Aurora man was cited for operating a vehicle under the influence Feb. 4 at 9:45 p.m. on Rock Creek Drive. He refused a breath test and was released on bond.

A Twinsburg man was cited for operating a vehicle under the influence Feb. 5 at 2:53 a.m. on West Garfield Road near West Pioneer Trail. During a search of his car, police said a flask of alcohol was found. He refused a breath test, and also was cited for having no front plate. He was taken to the Portage County Jail, and his vehicle was towed from the scene.

Protection order: During a traffic stop Feb. 2 at 5:45 p.m. on North Bissell Road, a Richfield man was charged with violating a protection order when he was found to be in a car with the protected person. He was taken to the Portage County Jail.

Hit-skip incident: A Chagrin Falls woman reported Jan. 9 that her vehicle parked at Aurora Commons was struck by an identified driver who left the scene. No damage estimate was given.

Loses control: Police said an Aurora man was taken to UH-Portage Medical Center for evaluation Feb. 5 at 12:05 p.m. after he drove off Eggleston Road and went into a ditch.

Collision: A Streetsboro male juvenile was cited Feb. 3 at 4:15 p.m. for not maintaining control after police said he struck an Aurora woman's car while turning from East Pioneer Trail onto South Chillicothe Road. No injuries were reported.

Rear-end crash: A Parma man was cited for assured clear distance Feb. 5 at 7:55 p.m. after police said he struck an Aurora man's vehicle from behind at Route 43 and Squires Drive. No injuries were reported.

Not driving in lanes: An Aurora female juvenile was cited Feb. 8 at 1:15 p.m. for not driving in marked lanes after police said she tried to switch lanes at Routes 82 and 43 and struck an Aurora man's vehicle. No injuries were reported.
