MACEDONIA -- Vista Springs, which marked its one-year anniversary in December, has been selected as one of the 2017 Best of Assisted Living Award Winners on, the largest ratings and reviews site for senior care and services in North America, according to a press release.

Vista Springs Macedonia is one of the only winners in Macedonia, and regularly receives highly positive reviews on the site, the release states.

To qualify for inclusion in the Best of 2017 Awards, providers must have maintained an average overall rating of at least 4.5 stars while receiving three or more new reviews in 2016. Additional details and a complete list of award winners can be found on

Vista Springs is located on South Bedford Road near Route 82. The state-of-the-art seniors housing and care community includes 70 assisted living apartment residences and two memory care neighborhoods with specialized Alzheimer's and dementia care programming for 15 to 20 people in each residential cluster. Assisted living includes studios and spacious garden apartments with studio, one and two-bedroom designs.

The assisted living apartments feature personalized care which includes physician services, licensed LPNs and RNs on staff, assistance with daily living activities, specialized diets, individualized health and wellness programs, personal concierge and personal response systems located in each apartment.

Heading the facility is Executive Director Susan Krupitzer, who recently completed the training program and examination for assisted living executives in Ohio, the Certified Executive for Assisted Living (CEAL) certification offered through the Ohio Centers for Assisted Living.

CEAL is a comprehensive certification program designed to elevate the skills and professionalism of assisted living administrators in Ohio by providing a national certification, along with comprehensive, state-specific training.

Following the four-day CEAL training course, candidates must complete the Residential Care/Assisted Living Administrators Examination given by the National Association of Long Term Care Administrator Boards.

In December, Vista Springs celebrated one year of business with an anniversary celebration in which Luca from Luca's Italian cuisine was the guest chef and guests heard a performance by "The Artists," violinist and cellist Koko Watanabe and Brendon Phelps from the Cleveland Institute of Music.
