The Akron Sail & Power Squadron (ASPS) conducts the "PILOTING" course starting at 7 p.m. on Jan. 24 at Cuyahoga Falls High School. The classes run from 7 to 9 p.m. each Tuesday evening for 10 weeks through March 28. The class is open to the public. Novice and experienced boaters alike will learn the latest techniques for piloting recreational boats in coastal and inland waters.

There is a course fee, a portion of which can be applied to membership. The fee includes a 116-page United States Power Squadron (USPS) "Piloting" student manual, the 275-page book, "The Weekend Navigator" and the USPS University Guide, "Plotting & Labeling Standards (20 pages). Also included is a 4-inch by 15-inch course plotter and a set of basic dividers.
