The Aurora High varsity girls basketball team took a half-game lead for first place in the Suburban League American Conference with a 40-35 victory Saturday over Barberton.
The girls stand 7-1, a half-game better than Revere's 6-1. The two top teams will face each other next Saturday afternoon at Revere. Fans should note that the Jan. 25 scheduled game against Highland has been moved to Jan. 30 because Aurora will host state duals tournament matches in wrestling on Jan. 25.
No other details were available about Saturday's win over Barberton.
