The News Leader is recognizing select Nordonia Middle School students who are "knighted" under the school's "The Knight Way ... The Right Way" recognition program. The program recognizes students each month based on their dependability, honesty, helpfulness and respect for authority, property and the rights of others.

Sydney Jean Rainey, daughter of Mark and Debra Rainey, is an eighth-grader at Nordonia Middle School.

She helps out around the house by babysitting and helping to clean. She is an artist, a singer and enjoys reading, writing and archery.

She would like to become a professional artist or singer and her favorite musical group is Pentatonix. Her favorite thing about school is the A Cappella group.

She looks up to Kirstin Maldonado, "because she is a multi Grammy Award winning artist with Pentatonix and sings awesome!"

She enjoys Grimm on television and the Hunger Games movie.

One of her favorite books is Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Titan's Curse.

She collects postcards and stones and her favorite vacation was to Niagra Falls in Canada because she was with family from out-of-state and it was her first time in another country.

She would like to meet YouTube personality Marzia Bisognin, "because she is a multiple hobby Italian that inspires you to embrace your culture and to not be afraid to try multiple experiences or hobbies."

If she could go anywhere in the world, it would be to Paris, "because it's just overall beautiful."
