Hudson -- Aris Radiology, 5655 Hudson Drive #210, announced Oct. 10 that it had acquired Atlanta-based US Teleradiology.

Terms of the deal are not being released, according to Carl Kozlowski, president and chief executive officer of Aris.

Aris Radiology will now "have more 250 radiologists who [will] interpret an estimated 2.5 million studies annually across 400 client sites, the combined group will continue to provide a full range of staffing and radiology services to hospitals, health systems and other medical facilities," according to an Oct. 10 press release from Aris.

Aris has about 60 employees working from its Hudson Drive offices with about 15 working between sales and the Nashville offices, according to Kozlowski. The acquisition brings about 50 non physician employees and 90 doctors, who will work from the Atlanta office, he added.

Aris hopes to add another 15 employees in Hudson within the next two years, Kozlowski said.

US Teleradiology, founded in 2001, is a physician-owned radiology practice which provides staffing and teleradiology services to hospitals, radiology groups and other medical facilities.

"This puts us in a really good competitive position," Kozlowski said. "We started back in 2007. Our main office is here in Hudson and that's our plan for the future."

The expanded reach helps Aris have a presence in other markets, Kozlowski said.

"UST has built a strong network of highly trained radiologists and a reputation for professional excellence, which will only enhance our ability to deliver the highest quality of care and service to the hospitals, physicians and patients we serve," Kozlowski said.

US Teleradiology will soon begin to operate under the Aris name.

"We are honored and excited to partner with a group of integrity such as Aris," Dr. Francis Ferraro, US Teleradiology chief financial officer, said. "Our organizations have always been the most patient- and physician-centric providers in this space and this combination will allow us to bring greater speed and depth of resources to our partners."

Aris, which was founded in 2007, will maintain its Hudson headquarters, as well as additional offices in Nashville,Tampa, and Atlanta,

According to Aris, Ferraro will join Aris as a member of the physician leadership team as director of physician and clinical relations and chief medical officer for California operations.

In 2015 Aris acquired Optimal Radiology, a Tennessee-based professional radiology provider.

The deal brought together two of the country's largest radiology groups at the time, creating a national practice with more than 160 board-certified radiologists.

"As we continue to grow, we will grow in Hudson and around the county as well," Kozlowski said. "Our goal is to always be the market leader. This puts us in the top two or three companies in our business in the country right now so we feel pretty good about that -- and we are not going anywhere."
