With two weeks remaining in the regular season, the Greenmen varsity football team (7-1 overall) has clinched its 12th straight berth in the Ohio High School Athletic Association playoffs.
All that remains now is to determine who the locals will play in the first round. The squad currently rests in first place in the Division II Region 5 computer standings.
Behind the Greenmen are: Warren Harding (7-1), Chardon (8-0), Beford (7-1), Brecksville-Broadview Heights (8-0), Copley (6-2), Hudson (6-2), Willoughby South (5-3), Akron Ellet (6-2) and Barberton (6-2).
The top eight teams qualify for the playoffs, with the top four hosting first-round games.
Aurora closes out the regular season Oct. 21 against Canada Prep and Oct. 28 against Tallmadge, both at home. The locals are 5-0 in the suburban League American Conference, with the Tallmadge game remaining.
