On Oct. 23, the Stow-Munroe Falls High School Swim & Dive Team will host its annual Mummy Run 5K and 1 mile Costume Fun Run at Stow-Munroe Falls High School Athletic Stadium, 3227 Graham Road in Stow.

Runners, walkers and sidelines supporters can find all the necessary registration and event materials online at www.facebook.com/SMFHSMummyRun.

The day's events will begin at 8 a.m. with check-in and registration, followed by a kids fun run at 9 a.m.

The Kids Fun Run will be one mile (4 laps) around the high school stadium track and will have a "trick-or-treat" theme. Kids of all ages are encouraged to dress in their favorite Halloween costumes and visit the candy stations where members of the high school Swim & Dive Team will be handing out treats.

The 5k will begin at 9:30 at the 50-yard line on the track, out into the surrounding neighborhood, to the Bike & Hike Trail, ending inside the stadium. Participants of all ages and skill levels will appreciate the awards ceremony and pancake breakfast at 10:30 in the high school commons.

Dressing in a Halloween costume is encouraged. Athletes from across Northeast Ohio have taken part in this annual event, which includes male and female participants in all age divisions.

The Mummy Run 5k & Costume Fun Run is an annual event that is the largest fundraiser for the Swim & Dive Team, helping defray the cost of participation for both the school system as well as students and families. In 2015 the event raised enough funds for brand new warm-up uniforms for the team. The goal in 2016 is to purchase uniformed gear bags for all team members.
