Beggars Night, Halloween Street Dance set for Oct. 27

It's time to think about treats and costumes and things that go bump in the night as Halloween approaches.

Beggars Night in Tallmadge will run from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Oct. 27.

Following Beggars Night, the city's annual Street Dance will kick off in the parking lot of the Tallmadge Recreation Center, 46 N. Munroe Road, at 7 p.m.

The annual event features doughnuts, cider, hot dogs, music, dancing and a costume contest with prizes.

Trunk or Treat and more

Fourth annual Trunk or Treat Halloween Party is set for Oct. 23 at Tallmadge United Methodist Church, 207 N. Munroe Road. Featuring food, fun and activities -- all are welcome. Take the kids for Halloween fun, decorated car trunks and hotdogs. The event is free, but donations to UNICEF would be appreciated. UNICEF is a mission for all children everywhere.

St. Mark Lutheran Church, 158 North Ave., will offer its Trunk or Treat event from 2 to 4 p.m. at the church. The event is designed for the kids and the young at heart in the community as a way of offering an alternative to going door-to-door for treats. Children are invited to beg for treats, as well as play games in a safe, fun environment. Cars will be lined up with decorated trunks and safe candy and treats will be handed out to the little beggars. Refreshments available. A prize will be awarded for the best decorated car. Costumes are encouraged.

Chili Supper/Trunk or Treat -- Community Baptist Church of Tallmadge, 274 N. Munroe Road, invites the community to a Chili Supper Oct. 30 at 5 p.m. Reservations are required, and may be made by calling 330-733-8906. A donation of $5 is requested per reservation. The meal includes a bowl of chili, cornbread/crackers/dessert/coffee/punch. Baked goods and other items will also be available for purchase. Truck or Treat will follow at 6:30 p.m. and a free hay ride will be offered, weather permitting. Trunk or Treat will be in force rain or shine.

Tallmadge Lutheran Church, 759 East Ave., is offering a Family Fall Festival Oct. 30 from 1 to 4 p.m. Pastor Andy promises "something for everyone" at this fun event, including food, a pumpkin carving contest and carnival games and prizes.
