Toastmasters International, a global leader in public speaking and leadership skills development, announces that Twinsburg resident Dennis James Deegan has achieved the highest award of Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM). The DTM recognizes a superior level of achievement in both communication and leadership.

"The DTM award is given only to those who have demonstrated outstanding leadership and communication skills and who have used these skills to help others in their self-development efforts," said Daniel Rex, Chief Executive Director, Toastmasters International.

Deegan personifies the requisite skills and commitment to others. He has mentored several Toastmasters and is an active member of the Twinspirations club. As the leader of Speech Craft Public Speaking classes sponsored by the Twinsburg Public Library Dennis has helped members of the community develop their public speaking skills and build self-confidence.

To achieve the DTM award Deegan presented more than 40 speeches evaluated by other Toastmasters and filled several different types of leadership positions. Deegan is a founding member of Twinspirations, a past President, and the current Vice President of Membership.

"Achieving my DTM is truly a high point of my Toastmasters experience and the culmination of a long and exciting journey" said Deegan, a professional speaker and job search coach in the North East Ohio area.

Sravanthi Vallampati, Twinspirations President, presented Deegan with a special plaque to recognize his achievement during the club meeting on Sept. 12.

Toastmasters club Twinspirations meets each Monday at 7 p.m. at the Cleveland Clinic Twinsburg offices at 8701 Darrow Road.

The club is open to all who are interested and guests are welcome.
