Dine to Donate event will help

injured Falls police officer Oct. 5

A Dine to Donate event to help injured Cuyahoga Falls Police Officer Ted Davis and his family will take place on Oct. 5 from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Applebee's in Chapel Hill Plaza, 508 Howe Ave.

Attendees should present an event flier to their server when they visit the restaurant. For each patron who presents the flier, 15 percent of their bill will be donated to the Officer Ted Davis Fund that is currently set up through Falls Catholic Credit Union. For more information on the event, visit the Facebook page entitled "Dine to Donate for Officer Ted Davis."

In July, Officer Davis was "severely injured in a car accident," according to a statement listed on the Facebook page. "He was on duty attempting to assist in the apprehension of a subject who purposely crashed into several [Cuyahoga Falls Police] cruisers. The subject struck Officer Davis's cruiser head on during the pursuit. Officer Davis is on a long, slow road to recovery and this will help defray the cost of medical bills and general bills at home."
