The Portage County TEA Party PAC is hosting a candidates night at 7 p.m. today (Sept. 28) at Maplewood Career Center, 7075 S.R. 88 in Ravenna.

All candidates on the local ballot were invited to the event, regardless of party affiliation. Candidates who have committed to speak are: for Portage County Commissioner: John J. Mancini and Sabrina Christian-Bennett; clerk of courts, Tia M. Paoloni; county recorder: Lori Calcei; sheriff: David Doak; State Rep. 76th Dist.: Sarah LaTourette; State Rep. 75th Dist.: Jim Lutz; State Sen. 18th Dist.: John Eklund; 13th U.S. Cong. Dist.: Richard Morckel; 16th U.S. Cong. Dist.: Keith Mundy; 11th District Court of Appeals: Ron M. Tamburrino.

Depending on final confirmations, each candidate will get at least five minutes to speak and members of the public will have ample time to question candidates at their respective tables before the start of the event, during breaks and after the event.

All candidate speeches will be videotaped and posted on the Portage County TEA Party website as a resource for Portage County voters.

The Portage County TEA Party PAC is an affiliated Ohio State PAC registered with the Secretary of State of Ohio and as such is able to endorse and support state and local candidates in Ohio.
