As of Sept. 24, the Aurora One Fund reached 36.2 percent of its $66,000 goal. Residents and businesses turned in 182 pledge cards out of 9,150 mailed. The business drive accounted for $350 and the residential drive for $23,545 for a total of $23,895.
The One Fund is managed by a group of public-spirited citizens who are all volunteers. There are no paid executives, and the fund has less than a 4 percent administration cost that covers filing fees, postage and printing costs.
