The Woodridge Local School District has released a Quality Profile, "a more comprehensive, community-oriented companion" to the state's School District Report Card, according to a news release from the district. The Quality Profile includes additional measures not included in the report card, such as extracurricular offerings and additional opportunities for students.

"Woodridge is so much more than test scores," said District Superintendent Walter Davis in the release. "We are made up of artists and athletes and academics, with teachers and staff who are dedicated to seeing our students succeed. It is important for us to be accountable to our residents. The Quality Profile provides a comprehensive summary of what we are doing to make our schools a point of pride for the community."

The Quality Profile notes Woodridge High School received a bronze medal in the latest edition of U.S. News "Best High Schools" in the United States. The high school offers 20 different sports, a 93.4 percent graduation rate, 16 different clubs and organizations. The Quality Profile also mentions the Woodridge Wellness committee that promotes healthy living and a new elementary school scheduled to open for the 2018-2019 school year.

The Quality Profile is based on 11 categories: the strategic plan, academics, arts, athletics, facilities, staff leadership, student wellness, fiscal responsibilities, parent and community involvement, giving back to the community and district communications.

"We were very pleased to produce this profile and communicate the things that Woodridge is doing to enhance the educational experience of its students," Davis said.

Woodridge was one of about 70 school districts in the state that released the community profile, according to the Alliance For High Quality Education.

The Quality Profile, sponsored by the Alliance For High Quality Education, is in its fourth year of development, and is being released statewide for the third time.

The Alliance For High Quality Education is "a statewide education consortium that works to improve educational opportunities for all students and to represent member districts on matters of educational policy and funding," according to a news release from the group.
