By the time you read this, the first meeting of the Young Professionals Group of Nordonia Hills Chamber will be history. Didn't make it? You can join the group next month (Oct. 12 at Golden Corral) or later this month when they have a fun-filled event at sky Zone Boston Heights.

The YPG is for all "young-minded" professionals who live and/or work in Nordonia Hills. You don't have to be a manager, check-signer or exec at your place of business. All employees can join to build relationships, develop professionally, become civically active and contribute to the economic development of our community -- and have fun! Check out the Facebook page for more details.

Attention home-based businesses: Be Different -- Join a real life business networking organization, the Nordonia Hills Chamber of Commerce. Today, it's really important for your business to stand out head and shoulders above the competition. Joining an organization and being proactive in your networking and leadership will help your customers start to know you, like you and eventually come to trust you -- you will be an automatic choice. Or even better, a person that they can refer others to.

Even though online networking is growing, you will stand out by joining a real physical, face-to-face network. Stand out by building familiarity, trust and recognition in your customers mind. With that in mind, try us out for 6 months. This is a special introductory offer for home-based business only.

Pay one half the normal fee for one half year. $130 will cover your membership through June 1, 2017. (You will be invoiced for a full year on June 1, 2017 and can opt out at that time.) Take advantage of all the savings and benefits offered from a "real life business organization." Check the New Member section on our web site for all the benefits of membership. This special offer is not available online and only valid through Oct. 15; call the Chamber office to get started. 330-467-8956.

Stay tuned for a new program beginning in January 2017 called "4th Friday." Home-based business owners will be invited to join me in the chamber office for coffee and breakfast as we discuss the pros and cons of home-based businesses and how the chamber and other businesses can aide in their success.
