Macedonia — Police believe the man who robbed the Key Bank in Macedonia Commons Aug. 29 is also responsible for an Aug. 12 robbery in Mayfield Heights.
According to police, a man walked into the Key Bank in Macedonia around 9:38 a.m., told the four employees to get down on the floor and demanded money.
“He had his hand under his sweatshirt like he had a gun,” said Macedonia Police Lt. Vince Yakopovich.
Nobody was injured and no gun was seen.
The man is described as a black male about 5 foot 10 inches weighing 180 to 200 pounds. He was wearing sunglasses, a dark knit cap, gray sweatshirt, darker gray sweatpants and white tennis shoes.
Yakopovich said the teller gave the man an undetermined amount of money, which the man put into a plastic bag he was carrying, and left the building. The man began walking southeast toward the Outback restaurant and police believe he got into a waiting car in a location not covered by security cameras.
A man matching the description was filmed robbing a Citizens Bank on Mayfield Road in Mayfield Heights Aug. 12, Yakopovich said.
Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to contact the Macedonia Police Detective Bureau at 330-468-1234.
