It's time for the city of Hudson to update its comprehensive plan, and the first workshops have been scheduled to get the community talking about what they value in Hudson, and what issues they want to see addressed.

The city updates its comprehensive plan every 10 years. It serves as an official guide for land use and development and addresses issues such as housing, parks, infrastructure, transportation, and more.

Comprehensive Plan 2014 will be community driven, and it begins with two workshops on Sept. 11. The first workshop, from 8 to 9:30 a.m. at the Country Club of Hudson, is geared toward business owners and managers. All Hudson business owners are encouraged to attend.

The second workshop, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Hudson High School Media Center, is for residents and community stakeholders. As a Hudson resident, this is your opportunity to participate in shaping Hudson's future. All residents are encouraged to attend.

The Comprehensive Plan 2014 website,, will offer documents that are shared throughout the process, plus information about future meetings and ways to get involved in the process.
