Things have warmed up nicely at Hudson Farmers Market. Not to worry, there are 15 more markets to go and if you're feeling the heat, Hudsonites can stop by and enjoy freshly churned ice cream from the market's new vendor, Sputtrz.

Among the changes at the market this season is the announcement of the sponsorship of the market by Hudson Montessori School. Hudson Montessori, which educates students in preschool through eighth grade, provides an environment that helps its students develop a true sense of community. Come meet the young entrepreneurs from the school when they visit the market on Kids Day July 12.

For Kids Day, the market will celebrate with activities geared toward children. Chef Catherine St. John, of Western Reserve School of Cooking, will take youngsters on a shopping trip through the market, teaching them how to shop for ingredients to prepare a recipe. Akron Ceili Band will provide lively music for all to enjoy throughout the day.

Other activities at the market during July include a cooking demonstration on July 5 with Song Yang, of Yang's Farm, a vendor at the market, and another on July 26 by Chef Kevin Altomare of Hudson's Restaurant. The Master Gardeners of Summit County will visit on July 19 to answer horticultural questions.
