A trio of students from Aurora was among those honored at Western Reserve Academy’s spring academic awards ceremony in the chapel.
Students were recognized for a wide variety of academic achievements, from the awarding of 13 college book prizes to awards in foreign language, music, math, history and science.
The Joel B. Hayden Award, presented to the best all-around student in the junior class, went to Joseph Mylott, the Harvard University book prize was presented to Anna McMurchy and the Yale College book prize was presented to Patrick Mylott.
The Frederick Douglas and Susan B. Anthony Award also was presented to McMurchy, as was a gold award for the French national language exam.
In addition, McMurchy  joined Joseph Mylott as a Morgan Leader.
“While there will be achievements recognized, I firmly believe we have created an environment where all students grow and develop and, with various opportunities and challenges, reach their full potential,” Head of School Christopher Burner said.
