Organizers are preparing for what they hope will be their best A Taste of the Western Reserve. The event will be Apil 27 at Signature of Solon.
Tickets cost $35 when purchased in advance and $40 at the door. There are a limited number of tables available at $400.00 for a party of 10. Info is available from Dick Garner at 330-562-9543.
The Rotary Club of Aurora,  which was charted in June 2000, initiated the event in 2001.
The event was patterned after one which a local resident had experienced in Grand Rapids, Mich. It has been hosted by the Bertram Inn, Independence Village and Our Lady of Perpetual Help, but was moved to Signature of Solon in 2006.
The event has grown from 11 restaurants to 20. The 2001 event hosted 250 individuals and was the largest year with  459 tickets sold. Last year’s event was the most profitable with revenue close to $29,000.
Money raised for this event provides scholarships to local students, funds local charities as well as providing life saving projects to people acrosglobe.
Restaurants participating will be Buffalo Wild Wings, Doogan’s of Aurora, Mad Jack’s, Mazzulo’s, Pine Lake Trout Club, Signature of Solon, Simply Greek, T’Cakes & Pumpkin Seed and The Welshfield Inn. Special thanks go to The Campus of Anna Maria, which will not onlybring food, but is a service above self sponsor.
Music for the event will be provided by violinist Mary Beth Ions, a member of the Cleveland Orchestra. There will be a cash bar.
While raffle prizes are still coming in, here is a “taste” of the prizes participants can hope to bid on at the event:
