Businesses sought for 'Shark Tank'

The Tallmadge High School Business Department classes Software Technology, instructed by Joni Giles, and Business Management, taught by Kim Brendel, along with Akron's Score organization will conduct the first annual "Shark Tank" April 10 at 6 p.m. in the Tallmadge High School Auditorium, 140 N. Munroe Road.

Score's Paul DeCapua, chair of the Student Entrepreneurial Mentoring Program, has been working with the THS business students by encouraging and guiding their innovations and ideas and helping in the development of their business plans.

Area businesses are asked to participate in this event. Judges, prize donors and those willing to share their entrepreneurial expertise to assist the students for this Shark Tank experience are being sought.

According to Giles and Brendel, the event could be a win-win for both students and businesses, as participating businesses will receive exposure, as well as affording them the opportunity to be involved with young business students in the community.

Contact Giles at 330-633-5505 ext. 1603, Brendel at 330-633-5505 ext. 1602 or DeCapua at 330-379-3163 by Feb. 21.
