Hudson - In March 2013, Fitness Together announced through on that they set a Big Hairy Audacious Goal of training more than 16,500 sessions between their two Fitness Together personal training studios in 2013. They trained 14,140 sessions in 2012, so it meant more than 18 percent growth in one year. Fitness Together reached the goal and trained 16,792 sessions in 2013.

They celebrated reaching their goal by renting a stretch limo and took their team of 13 full-time employees to Beachwood Place Mall. Each team member received $500 cash. Afterwards, the team had dinner at Maggiano's and reflected on the year. The trip took place on Dec. 7, in time for holiday shopping.

Fitness Together also had zero voluntary turnovers in 2013, which is unusual in an industry characterized by young, transient, part-time workers.

In addition, Fitness Together held other mini celebrations (Indians Game and a team cookout) as they made progress towards the goal during the year. They also gave out spot bonuses and recognition to staff members who went above and beyond to drive sessions of personal training by living Fitness Together's values - hardcore, loyal, nimble and evolving.

"I am a member of the Entrepreneurs Organization and my group discussed the concept of a BHAG," Jonathan Slain, one of the owners of Fitness Together, said. "I decided to implement it this year and with the help of my mentor, we wrote a plan, executed it, and it turned out better than I had hoped!"

Slain is excited that this year the business has written a Big, Hairy, Audacious Goal to train more than 18,500 sessions. And when they do it, they promise to take all their staff members to Atlantis in the Bahamas to celebrate.
