The Cuyahoga Falls Community Chorus, under the direction of Edward Arthur Shure, will be performing its annual "Sounds of the Season" concert at the Cuyahoga Falls Library on Dec. 16 at 7 p.m. Only this year, someone special will be missing. Val Moirano, the library's community relations coordinator, died suddenly earlier this season. Val was responsible for bringing the Chorus to the Library during the Christmas and spring seasons for many years. To honor Val the Chorus will be dedicating this concert to her memory.
Chorus Director, Shure, now celebrating his 10th anniversary season with the group, reflects on the nearly 20 performances for which they collaborated. "Val was once of those special and rare people that always smiled and made you feel great," said Shure. "I will never forget her emails to me after the concert. She shared her genuine enthusiasm and appreciation with statements like, 'Thank you so much for the exceptionally beautiful concert! Talk about being blown away! Just beautiful! The richness and perfect blending of voices....wow!' That was Val...always positive and supportive. Monday won't be the same without her. Val will be very missed."
The concert is free, open to the public with ample parking, and accessibility with elevators.
